Nikolaj Schmidt Skadborg, from Denmark, has been named Scandinavia's best young chef in the "S.Pellegrino Young Chef" competition's worldwide search for talent and the best young chef in the world.

Last week, San Pellegrino hosted the unofficial World Young Chef Championships in Milan for the second time. The competition is aptly named Young Chef, and this year, Danish Nikolaj Skadborg from Restaurant Sletten was there to represent the Nordic countries and Denmark.

Rudkøbing and Copenhagen: Nikolaj Skadborg, 29, grew up in Rudkøbing and trained as a chef with Thomas Pasfall at Munkebo Kro in 2012. He currently works as a chef at Restaurant Sletten in Humlebæk and has been part of the Danish national culinary team for four years.

Nikolai's style is very simple and aesthetic. Perfect for my taste. The food is quite elegantly presented and the taste is just right. You don't have to be more than just talented to realize why he is part of the national culinary team.
